Graphics Pipeline 2.0

What matters more than how fast, smoothly, and reliably SketchUp renders your models?

In this release, we’ve made major improvements to our graphics pipeline, allowing for performance improvements everywhere you see a .SKP. Now, SketchUp, 3D Warehouse, LayOut, my.SketchUp, and Trimble Connect all render models using the same under-the-hood algorithms—all tuned for buttery 3D orbiting.

Along with our graphics pipeline overhaul, we’ve made big improvements to transparency, which should now render faster and at higher quality too. SketchUp is also now much better at displaying multiple transparencies to provide a more realistic sense of depth across several see-through faces. And for good measure, we’ve added the ability to fine-tune the opacity level in X-ray mode.

New way of doing portables: separate .svm packages
-useful for plugins & so: reduces main exe size that contains only the program, thne you can download the plugin package only if you want it!
-ability for me to release a small program update through these separate files, without having to make the whole thing form scratch for each update.
--> More updated portables and less unnecessary size!

This release includes:
- main package (419 Mb): 3 small exe files (SketchUp, LayOut, Style Builder) plus a .dat file with all the main data.
- V-Ray 3.40.04 plugin package (434 Mb): optional .svm file, download if you want to use V-Ray with this SketchUp
- Plugins Pack (110 Mb): an additional optional collection of many plugins. I'll list them soon

You have to download the main package. If you want one or both of the additional plugins packages, download them and put the .svm file near the main exe files. At next startup, the portable will recognize the new plugins!
