Sometimes when u reach to “Video settings” tab u may find it Disabled
Turn it on by following these steps: Go back to General > saving > open “Record to ” and change it to “avi”.
Now, back to “Video settings” tab u will find it Enabled. After the changes done. U can turn it back to”trec”👍

I’ve encountered error “video codec open failed”. Any idea what caused this and the solution to it?

Hi, I had same problem and I found the solution.. too easy This error occur when using any codec other than TSCC as your video compression in Camtasia Recorder. To solve it: In Camtasia Recorder window, click on Tools > Options > Inputs tab then Open Video settings > u will get a window called” Video Compression Setup” > under the Compressor check the box, you’ll need to choose “TechSmith Screen Capture Codec” > press OK.
