This is a multi-package portable. I can add updates/plugins via .svm files, just request plugins or notify me about new updates.

FILES (2020):

- SolidWorks 2020 Portable.exe = main program launcher and connection between ALL other exes and data files. (Don't rename it) - solidworks2020.svm = main data file (7.55 GB) - *.exe = other applications launchers - *.svm = additional separate data files / languages

solidworks 2020 portable files

Release structure:

APPS

(each one contains one big folder from full install + exe launchers) - visualization.svm (3.16 GB) = includes 'Visualization' pack: Visualize 2019 + Visualize Boost 2019. - composer.svm (2.26 GB) = includes 'Technical Communication' pack: Composer, Composer Player, Composer Sync, Inspection, MBD. - electrical.svm (2.89 GB) = includes 'Electrical Design' pack: Sw Electrical 2020 + Electrical Schematic + PCB. - eDrawings.svm (658 MB) = includes eDrawings 2020 x64 app.

DATA:

(just big folders, to reduce main pack size) - cam.svm (1.75 GB) = includes SolidWorks CAM - simulation.svm (1.99 GB) = includes SolidWorks Simulation, Flow Simulation, Motion, Plastics.

Use: put all files in the same folder (exe and svm). All exe files connect to the main 'Portable' exe and runs desired app, reading all .svm files next to it.

solidworks 2020 portable packs svm Show info about: 2019 SP2

ADDONS:

Sandbox folder: "\Sandbox\SolidWorks 2020\roaming\modified\@[email protected]\SOLIDWORKS Corp\..."

Why so big?!

Installed size in /ProgramFiles/ was 18.5 GB, and with other files in /appdata/ etc was 21.6 GB total. Portable total size is 'just' ~18 GB. I could compress it, but performance would have been worse. I made a poll on my Telegram channel (@thehouseofportable) and big size+better performance style won, so please be patient, it's just a big app itself :)

It’s not work on my computer! window pop up with message:” The application was unable to load a required component: mfc140u.dll. Please contact the publisher of this app for more information”.

bobby · 23 January 2019 at 22:32

I am also doing portables. I guess you use TurboStudio, or ?
I prefer to use the pack-algorithm. As you said, it will be slower….BUUT … it is only slower on the first start. After the first start, chache is made and the performance should be like the uncompressed. Did you tried it ?

The House of Portable · 17 March 2019 at 0:11

Sorry what do you mean with pack-algorithm? And yep I use turbo 🙂

can I ask why it comes up with a dll error that it cant find mfc140u.dll in windows 7

please advise thanks

butter · 6 February 2019 at 22:10

I’m having trouble getting it to work. Solidworks gets stuck when it tries to load registry. I suspect that its also having issues licensing it to my machine, is there a way to change SolidWorks to a standalone license instead of a network license?

The House of Portable · 17 March 2019 at 0:09

Sorry, that would be great but not possible, network license is much more easier to get around. You may get sp2 which should fix every problem users had with sp0

Andre Simon · 7 February 2019 at 14:49

Please, can we get a EXE wirhout a TROJAN? Thanks.

The House of Portable · 17 March 2019 at 0:08

No trojans here, please use some serious av and not some Norton sh*t 😀

    André Araújo Simon · 4 August 2019 at 23:27

    Karspersky!

The House of Portable · 4 August 2019 at 23:45

that’s a good choice. Also I forgot to mention that my portables don’t even need admin rights to work, so they can’t harm your pc in any way 🙂

soriedem · 5 March 2019 at 1:53

Hello. Your site is the best on the internet about portable programs. Congratulations! I downloaded the solidworks 2019 program. But he asks for the license, and he closes. I used Winrar v5.20. Do you have any solutions? A hug from here in Brazil.

The House of Portable · 17 March 2019 at 0:06

Sorry previous version had problems sometimes with some users in specific cases. With SP2 everything should be fixed, let me know!

WMD · 6 March 2019 at 15:22

Portable SolidWorks!That is my dream!!!!!!!!!

Fanny · 15 March 2019 at 0:22

Excuse me.. Do i have to download all the three parts of the program (Main core, apps, and data) or only the main core and CAM data are needed to run the software properly?

The House of Portable · 17 March 2019 at 0:05

Only core program is required, other things are optional – I guess – just download if you need that specific package. Note that I don’t know how to use programs, I just make them portable, so maybe some of the packages are required!

Randy · 22 March 2019 at 5:10

Hello

Gavriil · 8 April 2019 at 14:46

Thank you. You are my personal Jesus Christ.

Filipp · 8 April 2019 at 16:02

Did you make portable-versions of earlier versions of SW for win10? 2016, for example.
This 2019 version is activated and works, but the interface is slow on my system.

The House of Portable · 13 April 2019 at 9:18

will see, which system? sw is huge and needs some resources, not much different from 2016 😁

pepe argento · 11 April 2019 at 1:33

Please upload it on mega or google drive. These servers suck so bad. Thanks.

Gavriil · 29 April 2019 at 10:13

How can i edit registry keys in this pack? Whrere are they located?
I want to activate a Realview on my system 🙂

The House of Portable · 30 April 2019 at 8:23

You can edit svm files using turbo studio (not exe files) or also create new svm, it will also read it and has reverse-alphabetical order priority

Jan Reinhoud · 12 May 2019 at 21:27

I tried it without Composer and it didnt work. Maybe easier to add in the main package? Or someone has it working without Composer?

rmen · 26 May 2019 at 22:46

SW message: Could not obtain a license for SW Std. Cannot connect to server (-15,10,10061)… What did I do wrong?

    rmen · 26 May 2019 at 23:22

Done! I was trying to run the wrong .bat … Thanks so much!

The House of Portable · 27 May 2019 at 8:47

okk perfect glad you solved 😁

Mike · 10 June 2019 at 5:35

I am trying to start the app, but since I am not admin, I cannot install the Flexnet Server… is there any other way how to run it?

Manuel Rojas · 10 June 2019 at 14:32

No me deja descargar ningun archivo……cual es la ruta establecida para la descarga. gracias

The House of Portable · 10 June 2019 at 18:52

english please. do you see links in this page? click them, then do you see links in the page after? click text links not button, dl all parts

José Campana · 13 June 2019 at 20:01

I had the theory that any heavy/complex/multi-exe applications won’t be able tu run in my modest laptop if use them as a portable (is my case with Office 2019 and Autodesk Inventor); but I can launch this portable of Solidworks, so… I can’t get what is the true reason… Anyway, is not perfect, so I’ll mention the following issues:

1. When doube-click the main program, it displays some command prompts that closes automatically after a few seconds while the logo launcher appears, but the Flow Simulation window keeps opened showing nothing, so I just close it manually and still waiting for the launcher…

2. I also though that just need the main package to make it work, but this portable searches for almost ALL THE ADD-INS to launch by default (specially that composer svm), so I had to download all of them.

3. I launch the main program again, and now it search for ALL DATA by default (specially CAM), so I downloaded all and tried again. The launcher is, in fact, slow as hell and the add-ins config menu takes at least a minute to open (here I can see the report of data load time and CAM takes 4MINUTES).

4. I tried to deactivate all the complements and restart, but the portable DOESN’T SAVE ANY CHANGES. This is really painful because I have to wait around 10 minutes to launch and is very slow.

You should fix this behavior and mod the default requirements to launch the main program. I saw a comment explaining that a portable could be a bit slower than a installed app in the first launch only, then the cache will allow to reach the normal performance next time… Do you know something about that? Maybe a little optimization could boost your work. Thanks in advance.

The House of Portable · 19 June 2019 at 9:15

will think about a new packing mode in next version, sorry for that bro, please be a little patient for now, portables aint ez

José Campana · 13 June 2019 at 23:37

Are you deleting my comments? Why? I’m try to bring you feedback, dude.

The House of Portable · 19 June 2019 at 9:08

as I said I’m just super busy with exams 😂 am reading some now!

Helton · 17 June 2019 at 20:31

Does it require a license to install and run or already included on it ?

Cheers

BIggly · 20 July 2019 at 14:56

Install went perfect but I cant use my SpaceMouse with it. Any help on this? It works perfectly fine on another ystem running a non-portable version.

The House of Portable · 5 August 2019 at 18:18

Sorry you understand that programs are not born to be portable and there can be some minor issues, maybe this one is due to virtualization, dont think it’s solvable maybe it will fix with next update, everything is quite randomic, sorry 🙁

Paul · 3 August 2019 at 14:23

electrical.svm is not in main archive

The House of Portable · 4 August 2019 at 15:11

As the ‘SP2 notes’ part states:
    – in this SP2 update, Electrical is included in the main package.
that means it’s not a separate svm archive, but built inside the main exe 😀

agunes · 6 August 2019 at 14:41

Superr job thank you
How do I change the language

Michael Knight · 10 August 2019 at 13:19

Is it possible to change the language?

The House of Portable · 18 August 2019 at 14:06

sorry only english for now and additional languages take big time to make, please a bit patient

    Ivaar · 26 August 2019 at 3:36

Thanks for solid works! How to make additional languages yourself? What algorithm work?

The House of Portable · 26 August 2019 at 11:39

you have to make an svm file with turbo studio (svm is a file container read by the portable) got no time to make those 🙁 not easy but you can try

Ra · 22 August 2019 at 8:20

Does it include Abaqus?

The House of Portable · 23 August 2019 at 9:21

not sure what it is 🙁 I just make stuff portable 😀 but I included everything that was in the setup, separated in various packages, if it’s generic it might be in main one

Jason · 24 August 2019 at 4:56

the exe don’t have malware right ???

The House of Portable · 24 August 2019 at 10:28

Nope my programs are all safe and dont even require admin rights, so cant harm your computer in any way 🙂

Muneer · 19 September 2019 at 17:30

Thank you very much!! I was waiting for a portable version of SolidWorks for a long time. I just have a problem. I downloaded the SP0, and when I open the “SolidWorks 2019 Portable.exe” file I get the error message:
“Could not obtain a license for SOLIDWORKS Standard.
Cannot connect to license server. (-15,10,10061)”
Is there any suggestions?

The House of Portable · 19 September 2019 at 18:51

I suggest you to always stay updated, why didn’t you choose SP2? It’s much more stable overall

    Muneer · 19 September 2019 at 20:00

I used to download SP0 in every release for SolidWorks. I will try to download SP2 and test it. Thank you.

The House of Portable · 20 September 2019 at 9:36

SP2 is same just a bit more stable and fixed 🙂

    Muneer · 20 September 2019 at 4:50

I downloaded SP2 and it worked perfectly! I think the problem in SP0 is that it needs an activation folder to load registry successfully.
Thank you very much for your great effort ^_^

The House of Portable · 20 September 2019 at 9:35

    Glad you solved 😎

Math · 5 October 2019 at 20:12

HI,

How add Swood Design with this portable version ?

The House of Portable · 6 October 2019 at 10:47

sandbox/… folder is like programfiles folder, put plugin files in there like install version, see grey box up here for more info

    Math · 6 October 2019 at 16:37

    Ok,

Does it contain track by the company Dassault? apparently some have received lawyer’s emails ?

The House of Portable · 8 October 2019 at 10:15

Nope don’t worry, it just communicates with local license server, it can’t connect at all with the internet as it’s completely blocked out internally and this can’t be changed even by me, I built it like this

    Math · 8 October 2019 at 21:03

    Great 🙂

one more thing, is it possible to install a language with its .exe or is it absolutely necessary to create a svm file ?

The House of Portable · 8 October 2019 at 23:38

it’s possible if you add all needed language files to their respective folders under sandbox, but that’s usually pretty hard especially with big programs like this, so a svm should be created

Nguyễn Trọng Việt Hùng · 7 October 2019 at 2:16

sebastian · 12 October 2019 at 9:52

can you upload the extended reality plugin, please?

Math · 12 October 2019 at 21:33

Hi,

I have my antivirus avira which alerts me to several trojan.

SOLIDWORKS 2020 Routing Library Manager.exe: TR/RedCap.btkdn
Copy Settings Wizard 2020.exe: TR/RedCap.xdwkg
SOLIDWORKS Network Monitor 2020.exe: TR/RedCap.fvudz

???

The House of Portable · 12 October 2019 at 22:44

I use a small tool made by a_catalin to generate launchers for more than 1 app if the portable requires it, as by default in Turbo studio this is not possible (which doesn’t make sense but ok) it’s called exebuilder and they’re really just micro triggers to launch the main exe. You can see his complains about his little exes being flagged by av here.

You can trust them. in fact you can run main ‘sw 2020 portable.exe’ without any problems, and it runs good, just other launchers built by this app are flagged for some reason. But they don’t require admin so they can’t harm much, trust me just add exceptions and you’ll be good, I’m sorry I’m not a programmer and can’t make a fix for this or a new version of exebuilder, that tool is from 10 years ago and still the only way to do this

    Math · 13 October 2019 at 16:36

    Hi,

I totally understand, I just wanted to do this back to understand why.

Thank you for these explanations and your work, good day 🙂

The House of Portable · 14 October 2019 at 0:15

    🙂

    Math · 14 October 2019 at 19:01

    Hi,

    Just last question.

How to add an addon, Swood, the file is an iso.

Or can you add it as a .svm file ?

The House of Portable · 15 October 2019 at 8:35

extract files on iso and copy to sandbox folder. if it’s an install you have to put instelled files in sandbox folder. like you ‘install it’ on sandbox folder instead of C:. hope you understood. more info in gray box

Math · 15 October 2019 at 19:57

Hi,

I put the contents of the iso in the folder :\SolidWorks 2020 Portable\Sandbox\Swood

is this correct ? In the ISO there are only 4 files the setup.exe and autorun.

I do not think it works like this.

The House of Portable · 17 October 2019 at 23:51

nope it needs ‘installed files’ there, not ‘installation files’ hope you understood, read previous comment again

Math · 18 October 2019 at 18:49

That’s what I did afterwards, and Solidworks does not start anymore ?

:\SolidWorks 2020 Portable\Sandbox . OK ?

An idea ?

The House of Portable · 19 October 2019 at 12:22

nope not there, under some folder like in installed version, see blue folder in grey box up here, C:/Program Files/ becomes /…/@[email protected]/

Johann Steven · 19 October 2019 at 9:46
